Trailer side skirts gain industry recognition – Logistics Business Magazine

November 27, 2025

Logistics Business, one of largest European logistics magazines, has featured an article about trailer side skirts gaining popularity across Europe as fleets pursue fuel efficiency and emissions reductions.

The article covers how side skirts reduce underbody drag to improve fuel economy, while also addressing historical concerns about durability, noting that early European products often didn’t survive real-world conditions like kerbs and tight yards.

The article highlights how improved durability and lower pricing are making ROI easier to justify for high-utilisation trailers, specifically mentioning Dymaxa’s approach: using fibreglass-reinforced composite materials (unlike earlier plastic versions) and offering products starting under €2,000 with estimated payback in less than 12 months for trailers driving over 10,000 km per month.

It also references real-world success stories, including the 2023 AB InBev and JOST Group pilot on 26 trailers that reported an average fuel saving of 4.9% on Belgium–France routes under controlled conditions.
